Reading Fightin’ Phils fan Adam Briscoe no longer in coma

By Tim Kelly, Sports Talk Philly editor

Adam Briscoe, famous for his "Briscoe Disco" dance at Reading Fightin' Phils games, reportedly is progressing after being hit by a vehicle late last week.

Briscoe's father told 69 News WFMZ that Adam is no longer in a coma, which comes as welcome news after a report indicated that he was in critical condition after being hit by a car last Thursday

Adam "Disco" Briscoe's father, Larry, called 69 News to report that his son came out of a coma early Wednesday afternoon and is now alert, being able to open his eyes and move his arms and legs.

Briscoe said his son has no memory of the accident that left him with serious injuries last Wednesday night, when he was struck by an SUV while walking at Papermill Road and Berkshire Boulevard in Wyomissing.

While Briscoe will likely face a recovery process, it's good to hear that he is making progress after such a scary incident left him in the intensive care unit.

For those unaware, Briscoe has become a mainstay at both Fightin' Phils and Reading Royals games. He's become so popular that the Fightin' Phils sell shirts with his likeness.

Everyone at Sports Talk Philly wishes Adam and his family the best in the recovery process and we hope you will donate to help offset his medical expenses.
