Sixers to sign PG Chasson Randle to three-year deal

The Philadelphia 76ers decided to sign point guard Chasson Randle to a three-year contract on Monday after he completed two 10-day deals with the team over the past few weeks.

The deal locks him up for the rest of the season and the next two, but will feature trigger dates for future guaranteed money in years two and three. The Sixers could part ways before those trigger dates without owing him any future money.

After averaging over 20 points per game on 42 percent shooting in 19 with the Knicks D-League affiliate, Randle joined the Sixers following the departure of Hollis Thompson. New York waived him in October after he  suffered a fractured orbital bone.

Randle, 23, has played in four games for Philadelphia this season, averaging four points per contest on 50 percent shooting. In 16 minutes against the Bucks on January 16, Randle scored 10 points to go along with two boards and an assist.
