Taylor Leier, Jordan Weal, T.J. Brennan Named to AHL All-Star Classic

When the American Hockey League All-Star Classic comes to Allentown later this month, three players will be representing the hometown team.

Taylor Leier, Jordan Weal and T.J. Brennan will be representing the Lehigh Valley Phantoms at the AHL All-Star Classic on Jan. 30, held at PPL Center.

Leier has split time between the Phantoms and Flyers this season. In 22 games, Leier has six goals and 14 assists for 20 points with the Phantoms. Leier had one goal and one assist in 10 games with the Flyers. The 22-year-old winger is in his third season with the Phantoms and is making his first AHL All-Star appearance.

Weal makes his second AHL All-Star appearance and first as a member of the Flyers organization. In 29 games this season, Weal leads the Phantoms with 31 points — 10 goals and 21 assists.

Brennan makes his fourth straight All-Star appearance and also his first with the Phantoms. In 31 games, Brennan is second on the Phantoms with 28 points — 10 goals and 18 assists.

The Atlantic Division team, which will feature the three Phantoms representatives, will be coached by Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins head coach Clark Donatelli

The All-Star festivities start on Sunday, Jan. 29, with the East/West Skills Competition and continue on Monday night with the All-Star Classic starting at 7 p.m.

The four teams, sorted by division, will play in a round robin style tournament with six games of 10-minute 3-on-3. The two teams with the best records after the six games will play a six-minute, 3-on-3 game for the championship.
