With the New England Patriots 34-16 AFC Divisional round playoff win over the Houston Texans Saturday evening, Tom Brady recorded his 23rd career playoff win. CBS announcer Jim Nantz noted prior to the game that Brady's then 22 career playoff wins were more than some organizations, but unfortunately newer organizations like the Texans aren't the only ones that statistic pertains to.
Brady now has 23 career playoff wins in 17 seasons. His season, of course, isn't concluded. The Eagles, who have existed since 1933, have 19 career playoff wins. The Eagles 19 career playoff wins have come in 40 career postseason games, while Brady has accumulated his 23 playoff career wins in just 32 games.
What's more, Brady and the Patriots have won nine playoff games, two AFC titles and a Super Bowl since the Eagles last playoff win, which came on January 11, 2008.
One of Brady's most iconic playoff wins, even if it wasn't one of his best individual performances, came against the Eagles when he helped lead the Patriots to a third consecutive Super Bowl win in Super Bowl 39.
Ironically, former Philadelphia Eagles running back Dion Lewis was key in Brady's latest playoff win, as he became the first player in postseason history to record a rushing touchdown, a receiving touchdown and a return touchdown.
