A report from Alex Kennedy of Hoopshype.com says that the Sixers are close to ending the Jahlil Okafor saga.

Kennedy writes:

"The Portland Trail Blazers, Chicago Bulls, Indiana Pacers, Boston Celtics and Sacramento Kings are among the teams that have been linked to Okafor, according to sources. The belief among executives is that Philadelphia is just weighing the different trade offers at this point and will execute a deal soon."

This is welcome news to fans who have grown frustrated with the inability to complete a deal for Okafor.

This report coincides with an earlier report from David Aldridge of NBA.com where he claimed that Okafor would not finish the season with the Sixers and that the Sixers had "…a lot of offers to sift through."

Kennedy puts a name to some of those offers. Chicago has been noted as aggressive in pursuing Okafor by Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical:

David Aldridge also reported the Kings as a trade partner for Okafor following the Demarcus Cousins move leaving them thin in the frontcourt.

The Pacers were reported as a potential suitor yesterday, and two days ago the Celtics reemerged as a landing spot for Okafor.

The Trail Blazers are relatively new to the discussion. They were discussed as a trade partner for the Sixers prior to swapping Mason Plumlee with Jusuf Nurkic. The Blazers were believed to be out on Okafor after acquiring a young big man but Kennedy's report puts them back in the discussion.

After much uncertainty surrounding the trade discussions with Okafor, it appears that the Sixers will get to take the best offer instead of having to sell low on Okafor.
