The Philadelphia 76ers wrap up the 2016-17 season against the team that probably brought the most excitement for fans of the team this season: The New York Knicks.

Indeed, this has been quite a season series for both teams. In the first meeting, the Sixers won 98-97 off of a TJ McConnell buzzer beater. Next, the Knicks won 110-109 off of a Carmelo Anthony jumper with 0.3 seconds left. The Sixers responded by winning 105-102 in the 3rd meeting. Here are some fun stats during the season series:

  • The Knicks have led by as much as 17 in the first two games while the Sixers led by 6 and 4 in game one and two respectively.
  • The Knicks have led by double digits in all three games. Clearly, they blew each of them.
  • Both teams blew a double digit lead in their last meeting.
  • The Sixers have won the rebound battle each game.
  • At least one of the teams has made 7 3-pointers each game. Sixers twice and Knicks once.
  • For the series, there have been 20 ties and 29 lead changes.
  • Nik Stauskas has started in the Sixers wins and Gerald Henderson has started in the Sixers loss. Hint hint.
  • With all of the injuries, McConnell will be the only player to start all four games for both teams.

This season series was entertaining for sure. Will this game hold up? The Sixers have lost key players to injury since their last matchup. It would be nice to see the season end on another thriller though.
