Report: Sixers will go after KCP and Porter if they can’t sign J.J. Redick

According to NBA analyst Keith Smith from RealGM, the Sixers are looking at the possibilities of putting offer sheets out for restricted free agent SG Kentavious Caldwell-Pope or SF Otto Porter, if the team cannot come to an agreement with J.J. Redick, who Woj from ESPN reported was meeting with the Sixers as we speak.

The Sixers have been linked to Redick for quite some time, and earlier today, Redick showed interest in coming to Philadelphia if he couldn't come to an agreement with the Houston Rockets.

KCP and Otto Porter would be good fits for the Sixers, and possibly Porter more than KCP, with Furkan Korkmaz officially said to be coming over from Turkey for this coming season.

KCP averaged 14 points, three rebounds, and three assists in 33 minutes per game for Detroit in 2016-17. Porter averaged 13 points, six rebounds, and two assists for Washington all while shooting a cool 52-percent from the floor in 80 games played.

Porter would add an offensive element to the small forward position that Robert Covington currently lacks. Still not beating Ro-Co's defensive abilities though.

The Sixers would have to shell out money to get the restricted free agents in order to avoid the Pistons and Wizards, respectively, from matching the contract offers.

Sixers GM Bryan Colangelo also said that he expected the Sixers to utilize one-year deals this free agency period in order to free up future cap space, which will leave money for a possible extension of Covington's contract.
