PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — If there's been one consistent part of the Phillies season lately, it's been starts by Aaron Nola. That was no different on Saturday night.
Nola threw seven strong innings, allowing one run on two hits, setting a new Phillies record and becoming the first pitcher in baseball this season to have 10 straight starts of at least six innings allowing two runs or less. Nola also picked up the win, as the Phillies used a pair of runs in the fifth and an insurance run in the eighth to secure a 3-1 win over the New York Mets.

The Phillies and Mets remained scoreless after three innings, with the only hit of the game coming from Mets shortstop Amed Rosario. Rosario attempted to score on a double steal in the third, but was thrown out at the plate.
The Mets got on the board first with one out in the fourth, as Yoenis Cespedes belted a solo home run to left.
The Phillies were still without a hit entering the fifth inning, but made the most of an opportunity in the inning. Nick Williams led off with an infield single and Maikel Franco followed with another single. After Cameron Rupp flied out and Nola sacrificed the runners into scoring position, Cesar Hernandez and Freddy Galvis hit back-to-back RBI singles to put the Phillies ahead.
Nola finished with seven strong innings again, allowing one run on two hits with two walks and eight strikeouts. It was his 10th straight start allowing two runs or less in at least six innings pitched, marking the longest such streak for any pitcher in baseball this season and setting a new Phillies record.
Ricardo Pinto worked around two walks in the eighth, striking out Cespedes on three pitches to end the inning.
The Phillies got two baserunners in the bottom of the eighth, and Tommy Joseph hit a sacrifice fly to left to score Galvis to increase the lead to two.
Hoby Milner came on to start the ninth inning and got one out and allowed one hit. Luis Garcia came on after that and finished off the ninth for the save.
