Fultz update expected Sunday, Bayless could return Monday

The Philadelphia 76ers are getting ready for the second match-up with the defending champion Golden State Warriors in the last week and there were some updates provided on a few injured Sixers on Saturday afternoon.

Let's start with Jerryd Bayless.  The 29-year-old hasnt played since injuring his wrist on November 3 against the Indiana Pacers. Bayless missed the entirety of last season with a wrist injury, but this one is not nearly as severe. He will miss Saturday's game against the Warriors but is listed as questionable to return for Monday's game against the Jazz at home. In nine games this season, Bayless is averaging 11 points per game, shooting 46.1 percent from the floor and 42.2 percent from beyond the arc. Before getting hurt, Bayless had been moved to the bench and Dario Saric was inserted in the starting lineup. With Dario struggling, it'll be interesting to see if Brett Brown gives Bayless another look in the starting five.

Sixers 2017 first round pick Markelle Fultz was ruled out indefinitely on October 27 with shoulder imbalance after playing in just four games and looking nothing like the player he was in college. It's been nearly three weeks and Fultz is set to have his shoulder re-examined on Sunday, according to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer. Fultz has participated in passing and running drills while also involving himself with the team, feeding the ball to the Sixers' big men in the post during practice. A source tells Jon Johnson of WIP that the update on Fultz is a positive one.

In other news, Jahlil Okafor will not be with the team against Golden State for personal reasons. The third-year big man has been dealing with an upper respiratory infection the last two games. There's been no progress made on a trade to send Okafor elsewhere.

Also, the Sixers recalled Furkan Korkmaz from the Sevens on Saturday. He scored 19 points on 7-for-15 shooting on Friday night for Delaware, who suffered their sixth straight defeat to start the season.
