Flyers Sign Carsen Twarynski to Entry-Level Deal

By Kevin Durso, Sports Talk Philly editor

The Flyers signed left wing Carsen Twarynski to an entry-level deal on Sunday, GM Ron Hextall announced. Twarynski was drafted by the Flyers in the third round of the 2016 NHL Draft with the 82nd overall pick.

Twarynski was a member of the Calgary Hitmen in the WHL when drafted, but was traded to the Kelowna Rockets during the 2016-17 season. This season, Twarynski has 43 goals and 27 assists for 70 points in 66 games. His 43 goals lead Kelowna and are tied for ninth in the WHL.

He had 20 goals and 25 assists for 45 points in his draft year with Calgary. In his junior career, Twarynski has 86 goals and 94 assists for 180 points, as well as 205 penalty minutes, in 255 games.

The 6'2", 198-pound forward has attended Flyers Development Camp in each of the last two seasons and played in one preseason game with the Flyers in both years.

Twarynski will be eligible to report to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms once his season with Kelowna is complete on an amateur try-out. His entry-level deal begins next season.
