Last year, the Flyers filled a large portion of Wells Fargo Center for a rookie game featuring the prospects in the organization facing off against the New York Islanders prospects. The two sides will meet again this year for a prospect game, but this time, it will be held in New York.

The Flyers and Islanders prospects will meet on Wednesday, Sept. 12, at 6 p.m. at Northwell Health Ice Center, the Islanders practice facility, for a prospect game that will mark the conclusion of rookie camp.

This is the third straight season the two teams will meet in a prospect game.

The Flyers defeated the Islanders, 4-0, in 2016 in the first meeting between the two teams in a game also held in East Meadow, NY. Last year, the Islanders rallied for a 4-3 win in overtime over the Flyers at Wells Fargo Center.

Flyers rookie camp typically runs for three days, concluding with the rookie game, though an official announcement has not been made. Training camp typically begins a couple of days after rookie camp closes.

More details about the prospect game, rookie camp and training camp will be available in the coming weeks.
