Flyers F Nolan Patrick Out 7-10 Days with Upper-Body Injury

By Kevin Durso, Sports Talk Philly editor

It didn't take long in Wednesday's 7-4 Flyers win over the Ottawa Senators for Nolan Patrick to get caught with a high stick. Later in the first period, he also took a hit that knocked him into the glass and left shortly after, not returning to the game.

Patrick will be out for 7-to-10 days with an upper-body injury, according to GM Ron Hextall.

Patrick only played 3:30 of Wednesday's game before exiting for good. He has yet to record a point in four games this season. The injury timeline will keep Patrick out for at least the next three games.

The Flyers had to do some serious line shuffling in the wake of Patrick's absence. Jori Lehtera took shifts with Travis Konecny and Oskar Lindblom in Patrick's spot. Mikhail Vorobyev also took shifts on that line.

This isn't the first time Patrick has suffered an injury. He entered last season, his rookie year, still recovering from offseason hernia surgery and suffered a concussion in October that left him out of the lineup for nine games.

The Flyers return to the ice on Saturday afternoon against the Vegas Golden Knights at 1 p.m.
