At some point, the Flyers have to start turning things in the right direction. Another shutout loss, their second of the season, in Boston on Thursday has sent the Flyers to 4-6 on the season, and a rebound is becoming necessary.

They get that chance against the New York Islanders, a team still trying to find an identity after losing their captain via free agency in the offseason.

Game time is at 1 p.m. at Wells Fargo Center.

The Flyers need their best players to step up and provide a spark. Claude Giroux had two great scoring chances in Boston before the Bruins got on the board and couldn't score. The captain needs a big game and he could get it against the Islanders.

It sounds crazy, right? Truth is, former Flyer Valtteri Filppula leads the Islanders in goals with four in the first eight games. As a former Flyer now, he's bound to haunt his former team in their slow start, right?

Michal Neuvirth returns for the Flyers, making his season debut after missing the first 10 games with an injury. He stopped 31 of 34 shots in a conditioning start with the Phantoms on Wednesday.

The Islanders turn to Robin Lehner in goal on Saturday. Lehner has made five appearances this season and has faced his share of shots, at least 35 in three of the five. He allowed three goals on 41 shots in an overtime loss to Florida in his last start on Wednesday.
