Dario Saric Bids Farewell to Sixers Following Trade

By Brandon Apter, Sports Talk Philly Staff

Earlier on Monday, Robert Covington took to social media to express his gratitude to the Sixers and the city of Philadelphia for his four-year journey with the team from being picked up from the G League to becoming one of the NBA's top defenders. Covington was always a guy that fans debated about throughout his time in Philadelphia due to his streaky shooting, but you have to appreciate his effort and journey.

As for Dario Saric, his journey to Philadelphia was an emotional one. After being drafted by the Magic in 2014, the Sixers acquired his rights and Dario guaranteed that he'd "come over" to Philadelphia after two seasons overseas. At points, some believed Dario wouldn't come over at all because he could have made more money playing in Turkey, but he kept his word and came to Philadelphia and became one of the most beloved members of the Sixers over the past two plus seasons.

On Monday, Dario's dad was first to react to the deal, saying that Brett Brown was emotional during the goodbye:

Monday evening, Saric took to Instagram to bid farewell to Philadelphia himself. We'll miss you, Homie.
