In an unsurprising move, the Eagles have re-signed cornerback Chandon Sullivan to the practice squad.

Sullivan was called up to the active roster following the slew of injuries in the secondary. He was behind Bausby on the depth chart and, as such, saw less snaps than Bausby. He did show quite a few flashed in the last preseason game, but was not able to make those big plays in the snaps he saw during the regular season.

If nothing else, Sullivan will provide a backup in the case of an injury as well as compete again in training camp in 2019.

The Eagles will hope that the young defensive back will continue their development and will be able to contribute to the team’s depth.

While there was one spot open on the practice squad, it is somewhat surprising that the Birds did not make room for De’Vante Bausby.

Bausby saw quite a bit of playing time, 146 snaps, across three weeks with the Eagles after competing to start in the slot during training camp. While he was by no means a star, he knows the system and could provide depth at a beat-up position. It would not be a surprise to see him in training camp in 2019 should he not be picked up by another team.

The two corners were released to create room for Mike Wallace to return from IR and Josh Hawkins to be promoted from the practice squad.
