Phillies Sign Lane Adams to Minor League Deal

The Philadelphia Phillies signed an outfielder on Monday, and no, it was not Bryce Harper, but rather Lane Adams to a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Adams, 29, has logged 117 games over three separate seasons since debuting with the Kansas City Royals in 2014. Over 154 combined plate appearances — 151 of which as a member of the Atlanta Braves in 2017 and 2018 — Adams has slashed .263/.333/.467 with five doubles, one triple, seven home runs, 26 RBI, a perfect 11-0 stolen base success ratio.

According to USA Today's Bob Nightengale, Adams would make $570,000 in the majors.
