Billy Joel has famously sung "We Didn't Start the Fire," however he and the Philadelphia Phillies are now under a bunch of "heat."

Stage Handler Carl Anderson is suing Joel and the Phillies, claiming they are "responsible for injuries he suffered" during a September 2017 concert, according to TMZ on Friday.

TMZ writes:

In docs, obtained by TMZ, Anderson says he was in the stage area when, out of nowhere, a scaffolding pipe fell and struck him … leaving him with a herniated disc and severe nerved damage in his back and neck.

Anderson's said his injury yielded expensive medical bills, along with loss of both wage and future earnings. He is claiming that Joel, Citizens Bank Park, and the concert's promoter, Live Nation, "were negligent in maintaining the stage equipment, according to TMZ.

The Phillies, specifically, are being sued by Anderson for unspecified damages.

This is among the Phillies' first public lawsuit since the Phanatic was sued in June 2012 for allegedly tossing a women into the pool at the Jersey Shore.

Joel was announced earlier this year as Citizens Bank Park's first stadium residency and music franchise. The six-time GRAMMY® Award winner is the first artist to perform for a record-breaking six consecutive years at Citizens Bank Park; he also holds the record for the most live performances by any artist in the venue's 15-year history.
