The first round of the 2019 NFL Draft did not start at 8 p.m. Instead, there was lead-up, introductions and fanfare for a while. One of the activities that occurred prior to the start of the draft was a giveaway of 100 years of season tickets to one of three finalists.

On the stage, were a fan wearing a New York Giants tie, a fan wearing their Detroit Lions gear and a fan wearing an Eagles-themed suit.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell stepped to the podium and announced that Gregory Hampton had one the award. Hampton was the Giants fan. Rather than give the gift of joy, the NFL game Hampton two season tickets for the next 100 years to see arguably the worst team in the league.

Perhaps the NFL and the Giants knew they would use the sixth overall pick on Daniel Jones and lose thousands of fans and used the giveaway as a way to attempt to keep attendance up.

That is not how the story ends, however.

According to Darren Rovell of The Action Network, the Eagles fan who was up for those tickets has not gone away empty-handed.

Rather than two tickets for 100 years, MacMillan was brought into the NovaCare Complex where the Eagles gave him four season tickets for the next 10 years.

Yet another day where the Philadelphia Eagles show how classy of an organization they are.
