Postgame Report: Eagles vs Cowboys

By Evan Krawczuk, Contributing Writer

The Eagles took a trip back to Jerry’s World to take on division foe, Dallas Cowboys. They’re looking to grab sole possession at the top of the NFC East. At the half, the Eagles were down, 27-7, and they came out the half very flat and it went down hill from there. Here’s what I saw in the back half of the action:

Offensive MVP: No One

I hate to give no one an MVP two weeks in a row but our offense looked more like a dumpster fire than a team fighting for the division. Yes, Goedert did have that touchdown but he also had a huge fumble early in the game. The offense never got going and the quick Cowboy linebackers played really well and made it tough for the Eagles to do anything.

Defensive MVP: Nathan Gerry

Zeke ran all over the Eagles defense and Prescott through the ball all over the place so this week it goes to the leading tackler. Gerry had 11 tackles but no TFL’s. Ezekiel Elliot had over 100 yards rushing and without Gerry who knows how much worse it could’ve been. The defense didn’t play well at all but Gerry’s nose for the ball gets him this weeks Defensive MVP.

Breakout Stars

  • Dallas Goedert- Goedert had what might’ve been the ONLY bright spot for the Eagles offense in his 28-yard touchdown reception and I would like to see him get more involved in the offense.
  • Jalen Mills- Mills played solidly in his first game back. Of course, he was a little rusty and he got missed a play here and there but, he had a nice interception and was a big help in the run game.

Highlight Reel

  • Carson Wentz’s touchdown pass to Dallas Goedert was a sweet pitch and catch that beat the Cowboys mixed coverage.

  • Jalen Mills got an interception in his first game back. It was a pass destined for a touchdown if not for Mills and he made a nice play to highpoint and take the touchback.
