On Monday, it was announced DeSean Jackson would have surgery on Tuesday to repair his core muscle injury.

After having successful core muscle surgery, the Eagles have placed wideout DeSean Jackson in injured reserve.

For the $9 million he makes this season, he has just 159 yards. That will be his total for the season.

The Eagles did workout Jordan Matthews on Tuesday.

This move, along with the release of Sendejo, leaves the Eagles with two open spots on their 53-man roster.

An IR designations sidelines a player for at least eight weeks, which would mean Jackson could not return until after week 17. If they do not choose to return two other players and make the playoffs, Jackson could potentially return for an Eagles playoff run.

For now, the Eagles need to address the receiver position for the next seven games.
