Kenny Pickett, Eagles

Kenny Pickett’s game against Washington wasn’t what many hoped it’s be, but he did eventually get them in position to win the game had it not been for several drops.

On Sunday, he came out and started a bit rusty but eventually began to light up the Cowboys defense while spreading the ball around effectively.

The hometown kid wound up 10/15 for 143 yards and a 119.6 rating before he had to leave the game shortly after the half.

He had been shaken up last week and exited the game this week – with teammates telling reporters after the game that this was due to Pickett having broken ribs last week.

Darius Slay and Lane Johnson both told reporters about the injury following the game.

Reports indicate Pickett had two pain-killer shots Sunday to try and manage the pain so he could play.

When he exited the game, the Eagles were driving and were up 24-7 (they kicked a field goal two plays later due to a hold called on the play he was injured on).

It makes it an even more curious decision what the Eagles do next week. Certainly there are many fans and even players on the team who would like to see Saquon break the rushing record and play next week.

Of course, it also brings up if the team would want to play Hurts should he be cleared, given that if he doesn’t play it’s almost three weeks of rust for the QB entering the playoffs. With Tanner McKee looking fantastic in relief of Pickett, it’d seem unlikely they risk Pickett next weekend with his injuries.

Ian Book was brought back in and added to the active roster, so he could potentially see time, as well.
