The Flyers pounded the Devils with two goals in the first and three more in the second, including a hat trick from Cam Atkinson, on their way to a 6-1 win at Wells Fargo Center.
Three goals in the third proved to be the difference for the Flyers, as they were handed their sixth straight loss, 5-2, to the Devils on Sunday night.
The Flyers continue a four-game homestand against the New Jersey Devils, one of three teams behind them in the standings for now. If there ever was a stretch of the season to begin a turnaround, this is it.
We’re at roughly the quarter-point of the NHL season, and the difference between contenders and pretenders is just as murky as it was before the year even started.
As teams ready-up their rosters for the regular season, let’s take a final look around the league before the games start to count.
