On Thursday night, the Flyers hit the road to face another team at the bottom of the standings and locked into a lengthy losing streak. The Columbus Blue Jackets have lost five straight games dating back to Oct. 23, including both games in their trip to Finland last weekend.
With four goals in 4:17, a 2-1 deficit turned into a 6-1 shellacking and the Flyers ended a three-game road trip with a 7-3 loss to the Winnipeg Jets.
Last week, Carter Hart was named the NHL’s Rookie of the Month for January. On Monday, another honor came in, as Hart was named the NHL’s Second Star of the Week.
Goals by Travis Konecny and James van Riemsdyk and another solid game in goal from Carter Hart led the Flyers to a 3-1 win over the Winnipeg Jets for their fourth straight win.
