Chris Porter claimed off waivers by Minnesota

Prior to Wednesday night’s game against the Devils, the Flyers made two more cuts, placing forwards Chris Porter and Colin McDonald on waivers. Teams had until 12 p.m. on Thursday to claim either player, and Porter even played in Wednesday’s game even after being waived, scoring the first of the Flyers two goals in a […]

Devils top Flyers in sloppy affair

The New Jersey Devils were 3-1-0 against the Flyers during the 2014-15 season. The trend continued in Wednesday's preseason game between the two teams. After a solid first period, the Flyers played flat for the remaining two periods, failing to generate any offense on Devils backup Keith Kinkaid. New Jersey claimed a 4-2 victory […]

Are the Flyers regular-season ready?

The Flyers hit the ice on Wednesday night for the first of the final two preseason games that will take place this season. In the five games so far, they have a 3-1-1 record. But Monday's game, to this point, has been the most telling, with the majority of the Flyers final roster taking on […]

More chances for redemption ahead for Bradford, Eagles

The injury report seemed to make the Eagles Week 3 game against the Jets an unlikely win. Shorthanded on defense, the Eagles got players to step up. Offensively, it was another struggle to the finish. One big quarter paced the Eagles. It was nearly not enough. At 1-2, the Eagles have life and have […]

Flyers stumble late, fall to Rangers on penalty shot

It might be the preseason, but Steve Mason was in midseason form on Monday night. The Flyers goalie was the primary reason they were competitive in the game. Mason nearly carried the Flyers to a win, but a late goal to tie the game by the Rangers forced overtime. In overtime, a giveaway by […]

Couturier day-to-day with upper body injury

Flyers center Sean Couturier is out for Monday night's game against the Rangers after not practicing with the team on Sunday or Monday. Prior to Monday's game, the team addressed his injury. Couturier is day-to-day with an upper-body injury not related to a slash he took in last Tuesday's game against the Rangers. GM Ron […]

Eagles place Cody Parkey on IR, sign Caleb Sturgis

You can add another injury to the list, but this one might not hurt as much. Kicker Cody Parkey has been placed on injured reserve with a groin injury and is out for the season. The Eagles held tryouts for free-agent kickers on Monday and have signed Caleb Sturgis to replace Parkey.

Preseason Game 4 Preview: Flyers hit road, face Rangers

With the roster down to 26, the Flyers are preparing for final cuts as the Opening Night roster takes shape. So far, it's been a successful preseason. Not only do the Flyers have a 3-1-0 record in the four nights they have played, but they have received contributions across the board from veterans and […]

Weekly Report Card: A better week, but improvement needed

After Week 3, the Eagles are 1-2. A win is a win is a win, and the Eagles will take whatever win they could get at this point. It was definitely a sloppy game at times and there are still far too many things to correct on a team that was supposed to have […]
