Christian Yelich Ruins the Phanatic’s Birthday

Milwaukee designated hitter Christian Yellich hates the Phillie Phanatic.  Yellich’s 9th inning sacrifice fly was the only run either team would score on Sunday night, as Milwaukee defeated Phillies 1-0 to spoil the Phanatic’s birthday. The loss moves the Phillies record to 6-10 on the season.

Phillies Rally in the 8th to Beat the Brewers

Alec Bohm’s bases loaded, 2-run single in the 8th inning proved to be the game winning hit for the Phillies as they defeated Milwaukee 4-2 on Friday night in front of 29,000-plus in South Philly. The win improves the Phillies to 6-8 on the season.

Villanova University has officially announced Kyle Neptune as the new head coach of the men’s basketball program. Neptune, 37, takes over for Jay Wright who stepped down on Wednesday evening.

No Call Dooms Phillies in Colorado

A controversial no call in the 7th inning, followed by C.J. Cron’s three-run homerun propelled the Rockies to a 6-5 come from behind win over the Phillies on Tuesday night in Denver.  The loss is the Phillies third in a row and their 14th in the last 19. Both teams will meet at 3:10 PM/Eastern on Wednesday in the finale of the series.

Rockies Defeat Phillies 4-1 in Series Opener

Colorado used a two-run 6th and a two-run 7th and lights out pitching from Chad Kuhl and their bullpen to down the Phillies 4-1 in the series opener on Monday Night. Aaron Nola didn’t pitch poorly but was once again on the losing end for the Phillies. With the loss, the Phillies fall to 4-7 on the season.
