View image | gettyimages.com R.J. Umberger will undergo season-ending surgery next week, the Flyers announced prior to Saturday's matchup with Detroit. Umberger's surgery will repair torn hip and abdominal muscles, and will need approximately 10 weeks of recovery time.
The Flyers are set to take on the Detroit Red Wings in Saturday matinee action, for the third and final time this season. Both squads have split the season series so far, with the two games coming in a 31-day span (Oct. 25 and Nov. 26).
