Ben Simmons to have surgery, miss three months

Philadelphia 76ers forward and No. 1 overall pick Ben Simmons fractured a bone in his foot on the final day of training camp and will have surgery. According to ESPN, the former LSU product will miss at least three months.

If Simmons is back at the beginning of December, he'd miss 19 games. If he returns to start January, he'd miss 33 games, so it seems like Simmons would be able to play at least 50 games in his rookie season.
In six Summer League games for Philadelphia, Simmons averaged 10.8 points, 7.7 rebounds and 5.5 assists. With the injury to his foot, more playing time could come for Dario Saric and Richaun Holmes right when the season begins.
