Kyle Kendrick released by Braves after beating by Phils

Kyle Kendrick was granted his unconditional release by the Atlanta Braves on Saturday. 

Kendrick, who pitched for the Phillies from 2007–2014 and the Colorado Rockies in 2015, signed with Atlanta this offseason. In two spring training starts in 2016, he picked up two losses with an ERA of 22.09.

The Phillies were the latest aggressors against Kendrick, tagging him for seven runs in under two innings in yesterday's contest against the Braves. César Hernández and Darin Ruf each had 2 RBI in the Phillies' 9-2 win.

The 31-year-old Kendrick boasts 81 career wins and 81 career losses, with a 4.63 career ERA. With Colorado in 2015, Kendrick went 7-13 with an ugly 6.32 ERA at hitter-friendly Coors Field.

Along with Kendrick, pitcher Chris Volstad was let go by the Braves.
