According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports and a source confirmation from CSN Sixers Insider Jessica Camerato, the Sixers have created a new position within their organization, chief of staff, and Brandon Williams will be filling that spot, reporting to Sam Hinkie. Williams, 40, was the acting general manager of the Sixers D-League affiliate, the Delaware 87ers.

According to Wojnarowski, Williams will oversee player development, agent relations and recruiting.  His short NBA career included stints with the Warriors in 1997-98, the Spurs in 1998-99 and the Hawks in 2002-03.

CSN Philly mentions that Williams' duties will be similar to what he had already been doing. Sam Hinkie made Williams one of his first hires when he was brought on in 2013.
