Former Phillies join AL clubs: De Fratus heads to Seattle, Worley to Baltimore

Two former Philadelphia hurlers came off the market this afternoon, heading to American League teams.

Righty Vance Worley, who pitched for the Phils from 2010-2012 and amassed a 3.50 ERA before being traded to Minnesota as part of the return for Ben Revere, agreed to a 2.6-million-dollar contract with the Baltimore Orioles for 2016, per CBS Sports' Jon Heyman.

Worley had been in Pittsburgh for the last two seasons, starting 25 games in that time with a combined 3.31 ERA. He will likely earn a starting spot in the O's rotation as he returns to American League pitching.

RHP Justin De Fratus, a member of the Phillies' bullpen from 2011-2015, has signed with the Seattle Mariners in free agency, also per Heyman. 

De Fratus, 28, will earn $750K on a one-year major-league contract with Seattle; his deal also includes incentives. As a reliever for the Phils, he struggled in 2015 after an excellent 2014, seeing his ERA balloon from 2.39 to 5.51. It remains to be seen how he can rebound, especially in a league with the DH rule and overall more hitting than the National League.
