As the Flyers prepare to honor another legend of the past, the recent past has been anything but memorable. After coming away with a dramatic win in Carolina less than two weeks ago, the Flyers have dropped three straight games, scoring two goals combined in the three games. This includes shutouts in the last two games.
The team that helped the Flyers snap a losing streak previous is at Wells Fargo Center on Monday night. So perhaps the Carolina Hurricanes are the medicine the Flyers need to snap their scoring drought.
A ceremony honoring Rod Brind'Amour is set to begin at 7 p.m. with the opening face-off following at 8 p.m.
There was not bigger change than Jake Voracek's move from first line to the third line. Michael Raffl jumped back up to the top line with Brayden Schenn and Claude Giroux while Voracek plays alongside Pierre-Edouard Bellemare and Chris VandeVelde.
Scott Laughton also returns to the lineup after leaving Saturday's game with an upper-body injury.
Michal Neuvirth gets the start in goal. He is 3-3-1 with a 2.08 GAA and .939 save percentage.
The Hurricanes come into the game with a 7-10-3 record, having posted a 1-1-3 record in their last five games.
Defenseman Justin Faulk leads the team in goals and points. He has eight goals and 15 points. Kris Versteeg is second in points with 13 thanks to a team-high 11 assists. Victor Rask and Eric Staal each have 12 points.
Rask and Elias Lindholm each scored in the Flyers 3-2 win in Carolina on Nov. 14.
In goal, the Hurricanes will start Eddie Lack after starting Cam Ward against Los Angeles on Sunday. Lack is 1-4-0 with a 3.37 GAA and .861 save percentage in five games.
