Mike Adams Joins Dodgers on Minor League Deal

In an attempt to strengthen their bullpen back in 2013, the Phillies agreed to a deal with veteran reliever, Mike Adams. After an injury plagued 2014, the 36-year-old Adams is heading out west, hoping to make a return in LA, with the Dodgers.

The contract that the Phillies and Adams signed back in December of 2012 was a two-year pact worth $12 million. Included in it was a club/vesting option worth $6.5 million. The Phillies declined that option after the conclusion of the 2014 season. 

Injuries limited Adams to just 50 games with the Phillies over two seasons. He posted a 3-5 record and an ERA of 3.50. He was impressive in 2014 before battling shoulder and rotator cuff issues, going 2-1 with a 2.89 ERA in 18.2 innings.
