Opening Day is always a special time. The Phillies brought in former players Steve Carlton and Jamie Moyer to throw out the first pitch at the Phillies' opener. For the Charlotte Knights, Jim Thome would be that special player. It did not go so well.
Kami Mattoli of the Sporting News passes along this gem. Thome was the guest of honor for the AAA affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, part of the organization for whom he works. Thome played a few rehab games in Charlotte in 2007. Having last played defense in 2012 for the Phillies, Thome is a little rusty with his throws.
