Charlie Manuel To Accept Job With Phillies

The Phillies offered their former manager Charlie Manuel a job immediately upon firing him. Manuel had wished to keep managing, but despite several vacancies, Manuel struck out in getting a new job for the 2014 season. Now, Manuel appears to have accepted a job with the Phillies, though the specifics are yet to be clear.
Matt Gelb of the Philadelphia Inquirer included this tidbit his "Phillies notes":
Charlie Manuel is expected to accept a role in the Phillies front office that would involve some minor-league hitting instruction, scouting and public relations. Amaro said he is still talking about details with Manuel.
Manuel's presence should delight many Phillies fans who hoped he would stay aboard.
