The Phillies are in New York tonight to face the Mets at Citi Field. But they will not face former Phillies outfielder Marlon Byrd, who has put together a nice comeback year with the Mets. The New York Mets traded Byrd and catcher John Buck to the Pittsburgh Pirates this afternoon. The irony is that tonight is a giveaway night: a Marlon Byrd t-shirt.

Phillies fans and Mets fans alike headed to Citi Field tonight will now have something to mow the lawn in or give their wife to sleep in. Unlike the Hunter Pence bobblehead giveaway last season, this is scheduled the day of the trade. Interesting.
