The Sixers are for real and the rest of the league is noticing it. The NBA has announced that the Philadelphia 76ers will have marquee games vs. the Boston Celtics on Opening Night and Christmas Day this upcoming season.

The Sixers played on December 25 last season against the New York Knicks, in a winning effort.

The team announced that they will be facing off with the Celtics on October 16 at the TD Garden in Boston to kick off the season.

Additionally, the NBA announced that the Sixers would be taking on the Celtics on Christmas Day at 5:30 p.m. on ABC as well.

Finally, the Sixers will also play against the Houston Rockets on Martin Luther King Day at 8 p.m at the Wells Fargo Center. That matchup will be televised on TNT.
