Radnor, PA: It’s still early in the season so teams are trying to figure out what type of style they are going to be running with a new coach. That is what we are seeing with the Villanova Wildcats under new coach Kevin Willard.

On Tuesday night, the Wildcats would do battle with the Sacred Heart Pioneers in the Villanova Challenge event.

Villanova comes into the game off a win over Queens University, while Sacred Heart made its way to the Main Line off a loss to Duquesne.

Lineup:

How the game went:
Bryce Lindsay would get the scoring started for the Wildcat with 3 different 3-pointers. Sacred Heart responded with a 3 pointer, but then Lindsay banged in another 3-pointer. You could sense that something special was about to happen.

The Pioneers would bring the fight to the Wildcats and, at one point, they would have a 4-point lead at 17-13 with 12:16 left.

From this point on, the Wildcats would just bully their way past the Pioneers. The 3-pointers would be falling as the Wildcats would make 13 of them on 23 attempts.

Bryce Lindsay would make 7 of the 13 three-pointers  that were attempted in the 1st half:

Villanova would take a 52-26 lead at the half.

At this point of the game, could Sacred Heart make some changes & try to get back into the game? The answer would be NO, as the 3 pointers from the Wildcats were just unstoppable.

There would be history made as Bryce Lindsay would set a new record with 3 pointers made, passing Allan Ray, Darrun Hilliard, and Kris Jenkins who had the record with 8 three pointers made in a single game.

Later on in the second half, the Wildcats would get the lead up to as high as 39 at 84-45.

Another record would be set at Finneran Pavilion:

Villanova would take down Sacred Heart 94-60 & are now 2-1 on the season. This was a complete team effort, especially from three-point range.
