Dec 9, 2025; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA; Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Dan Vladar (80) against the San Jose Sharks at Xfinity Mobile Arena.

Make room for one more Olympian on the Flyers roster. Goaltender Dan Vladar will participate in the Olympics as a member of Team Czechia. The Czech roster was announced on Tuesday morning.

Vladar joins Travis Sanheim (Canada), Rasmus Ristolainen (Finland), and Rodrigo Abols (Latvia) as Olympic players. Head coach Rick Tocchet will be an assistant coach for Team Canada.

Vladar, 28, is already putting together a career season. After signing with the Flyers on a two-year deal this offseason, Vladar has become the team’s No. 1 goalie. In 24 games, he has a 15-6-3 record, a 2.39 GAA, and a .910 save percentage. The 15 wins in a season are a career high for Vladar.

Now, Vladar gets to take that performance to an international stage. Also on the Olympic roster for Team Czechia is Lukas Dostal, the Anaheim Ducks goaltender who Vladar will be opposing in Tuesday night’s game in Philadelphia. Dostal was named as one of the first six on the Czechia roster over the summer.

The Olympic break in the NHL is from Feb. 6 to Feb. 24.
