The Philadelphia 76ers used their G-League affiliate in Delaware a lot more than in previous years during the 2016-17, sending players down to rehab injuries while also giving guys like Shawn Long and Alex Poythress an opportunity to play with the big squad. Now, you have the chance to suit up with the Sixers' G-League team as the Delaware 87ers announced open tryouts for the upcoming season.

As mentioned in the above tweet, tryouts will take place on September 16 at McGonigle Hall at Temple University from 8am-12pm and September 23 at Hockessin PAL Center in Delaware from 8am-1pm. You can register online at Sevens.com or by calling 302-504-7587. Each tryout participant gets tickets to a Sevens game and their own practice jersey, so even if you aren't too skilled in hoops, the jersey might be worth the price of an audition anyway!

Last season, the Sevens finished 26-24, good for second place in the Atlantic Division. Shawn Long led Delaware with an average of 20.2 points, 11.1 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game. He went on to play 18 games for the Sixers, with averages of 8.2 points and 4.7 rebounds in 13 minutes per game. Philadelphia traded Long to Houston on June 28 for cash.
