Kevin Durant thinks Kyrie has ‘more skill’ than Iverson
By Josh Liddick, Sports Talk Philly editor
Oh boy, this is going to get pretty heated amongst many Philly fans. Kevin Durant went on Bill Simmons' The Ringer, just two days after capturing his first NBA title, and made some comments regarding Cleveland PG Kyrie Iriving in comparison to Sixers legend, Allen Iverson.
In fact, during the podcast, towards the end (around 35:03), KD may have divulged that skill-to-skill, Kyrie is better than A.I.
Pretty intense words from Durant, comparing Irving to the hall-of-famer, and one of the game's greatest point guards.
While Kyrie does have a championship under his belt, and that was an accomplishment that Iverson doesn't have, Iverson for the most part carried the Sixers on his back for most of his tenure, and is without a doubt considered to be a major generational superstar.
The comparison between the two players might be made with their abilities to shoot with impressive accuracy, and their lethal ball-handling that made their defenders seem clueless on the court. However, Iverson's impact on the game of basketball as a whole is unprecedented, and Kyrie just isn't close enough to match that sort of charisma.
KD has seen enough of Kyrie to make that sort of judgment, but one person's thoughts is why opinions of one person should never dictate what is fact.
