The Flyers lost to the Devils, 2-0, and to the Islanders, 3-0, opening the preseason with two shutout losses.

The Flyers open the preseason on Monday night by splitting the camp roster for a pair of games against the New Jersey Devils and New York Islanders, both on the road and both starting at 7 p.m.

The final two teams in the World Cup of Hockey are set. Team Canada, the favorite upon the start of the tournament, will face the surprise team of the tournament, Team Europe, in the best of three final series starting on Tuesday night.

After this week’s disastrous end to the World Cup of Hockey for Team USA, the American upper brass must look to the young stars of North America to regain prominence.

The Philadelphia Flyers will now be completed owned by Comcast, as the company will buy the remaining share of the Flyers owned by Ed Snider’s estate to take 100 percent ownership of the franchise.

Team Canada, Team Europe, Team Sweden and Team Russia all advanced to the semi-finals of the tournament, eliminating Team USA, Team North America, Team Finland and Team Czech Republic, meaning Flyers Jake Voracek, Sean Couturier, Shayne Gostisbehere and Michal Neuvirth will be returning to the Flyers much sooner than originally anticipated. Claude Giroux, Mark Streit and Pierre-Edouard Bellemare remain in the tournament.

Flyers prospects Travis Konecny and Ivan Provorov are trying to make decisions difficult for the Flyers as training camp begins on Friday.
