Chalk one up for the pride of Ocean County, the Lakewood BlueClaws. They're playing some baseball now down along the Jersey Shore, in the same area that was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy. That in and of itself is a kind of miracle. If you saw the destruction down there last fall, you'd be amazed.
You'd be even more amazed to know that they're one of the things helping to re-build there. They are wearing "Restore the Shore" jerseys all weekend, and auctioning them off at the end. The jerseys don't have the player's name on them, but rather the name of a destroyed town from the storm. The proceeds from the jerseys will go to the BlueClaws charities relief efforts.
