What a strange game it was.

Derek Lowe retired 14 straight following a walk to Ben Francisco in the second inning. Phillies did not managed to get a hit until a leadoff single to Shane Victorino in the seventh. After putting runners on second and third with no outs following a Placido Polanco double. Eric O'Flaherty relieved an obviously hurt Derek Lowe and struck out the side of Ryan Howard, Ben Francisco and Raul Ibanez, leaving the two in scoring position.

Cliff Lee, set a career high with 16 strikeouts, but the three-run third inning has made the difference so far with a 3-0 lead for the Braves. He has allowed three runs on nine hits in six innings with one walk. However, Lowe walked one with four strikeouts. He was able to get eight groundouts to five fly outs, obviously.

You don’t want to hear about the 9th inning meltdown. Two Words: Danys Baez. The End. Phillies fall to the Braves, 5-0.

As for tomorrow, let’s hope the real Kyle Kendrick can stop the bleeding, while the Braves call up their top pitching prospect Julio Teheran to make his MLB debut.

Injury reportPlacido Polanco left the game after doubling in the seventh. He had taken a foul ball off his right foot moments earlier. X-rays were negative.

Side Note: Domonic Brown killed a baseball (3 run bomb) for the Iron Pigs tonight.
