Eagles bring back Bryan Braman following Wentz injury

After placing franchise quarterback and NFL MVP candidate Carson Wentz on injured reserve following a torn ACL the Eagles have turned to a familiar face to fill Wentz's roster spot.

The Eagles signed defensive end Bryan Braman to the 53-man roster. Braman played with the Eagles from 2014-2016 and was prominent figure on the special teams unit. 

Braman led all players in special teams snaps during his tenure as an Eagle, and he will step back into his role on special teams and bring a swagger to the unit that had been lost since team captain Chris Maragos suffered a season-ending injury. 

Braman is not only familiar with special teams coordinator Dave Fipp from his previous time under Fipp in Philadelphia, but he also is familiar with the players in the locker room.

Coaches and management have been vocal about adding players who fit the team's locker room dynamic and that undoubtedly played a role in the addition of Braman.

The most surprising thing about this signing is that Eagles appear to be going forward with Nate Sudfeld as the backup to Nick Foles. Sudfeld has never played in an NFL game.
