UPDATED: Jeff McLane responded to our earlier report by confirming that the Eagles lost out to Orlando Franklin to the San Diego Chargers

According to Jeff McLane, the Philadelphia Eagles are pursuing Denver Broncos free agent Orlando Franklin.

Signing Franklin would instantly give the Eagles one of the best offensive lines in football. From left to right, the line would consist of: Jason Peters, Evan Mathis, Jason Kelce, Orlando Franklin, and Lane Johnson.

Franklin also brings versatility, which is something the Eagles crave. He played right tackle for the Broncos earlier in his career before switching to guard. So he could provide cover for the Birds if an injury arises.
