Philadelphia: It is still early in the college basketball season & all the teams are figuring out what they have and their identity for the rest of the season. Let’s take a look at what is going on with Philly college hoops

Last week’s results:
Temple beat LaSalle & lost to Boston College
Villanova beat Sacred Heart & Duquesne
Penn Fell to American & Providence
Drexel lost to Syracuse & Colgate
Saint Joseph’s lost to Virginia Tech
LaSalle fell to Temple & Penn State

On Tap this week:

Saint Joseph’s:
The Hawks head into Big 5 play with Penn at the Palestra on Monday Night, & this  game would have a major impact on the Big 5 standings & then head to UNLV on Thursday at 10 PM

Drexel:
After going 0-2 last week, including losing to Syracuse at Xfinity Mobile Arena, the Dragons will have 3 games this week at the Daskalakis Athletic Center, starting on Nov 18 vs NJIT & then Big 5 Battle vs Penn on Friday & then Old Dominion on Sunday.

Villanova:
The Wildcat had a 2-0 week & now heads into their first Big 5 Battle as it is on the road at LaSalle on Wednesday & will be on CBS Sports Network. This game on Wednesday will be Kevin Williard’s 1st in the Big 5.  Villanova would also find out that Freshman Acaden Lewis was named Big East Freshman of the Week

Temple:
After going 1-1 last week, the Owls will attempt to get back to their winning ways as they battle Hofstra on Wednesday

Penn:
After a 0-2 week, Fran McCaffery will get his 1st taste of Big 5 action this week as they host Saint Joseph’s on Monday, & then the Battle on 33rd street with Drexel on Friday, & then Penn will get some news before their Big 5 Battle on Monday

 

LaSalle:

After going 0-2 last week, including a loss to Penn State at Xfinity Mobile Arena, the Explorers will have 2 home games this week at John E. Glaser Arena, starting on Wednesday, as they look not to be 0-2 in the Big 5 as they battle Villanova, this would be the first home Big 5 game for new head coach Darris Nichols & then battle Lancaster Bible on Sunday
