Kevin Patullo Linked to Giants Head Coaching Job… and Eagles Fans Are Holding the Door Open
Well, here’s one nobody had on their NFL coaching carousel bingo card: Sports Illustrated has named Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo as a potential candidate for the vacant New York Giants head coaching job.
Yes, that Kevin Patullo, the one currently steering an Eagles offense that has fallen apart so dramatically this season that it inspired an entire breakdown article of its own. (Which, if the Giants are doing any actual homework, they should go ahead and read.)
But apparently, collapsing an offense is just résumé seasoning now.
So naturally, this is the moment when someone believes he’s ready to run an entire franchise.
To be fair, Patullo is respected around the league for his work ethic, his detail, and his versatility across multiple offensive roles. And if the Giants are looking for a young coach with a modern approach and plenty of experience in collaborative systems, his name does check those boxes.
But let’s not pretend Eagles fans would shed a single tear if he headed up I-95. In fact, there might be a few goodbyes shouted from the Betsy Ross Bridge just to make sure he hears them.
Whether this interest turns into an interview or just a footnote in the rumor mill remains to be seen. But if the Giants want to take a shot on the coordinator behind one of the league’s most stunning offensive downturns… well, Philadelphia certainly won’t stand in the way.
If anything, they might help him pack.
