The Phillies may have given Michael Young his last starting job in the Major Leagues.  While with the Phillies he asked for a no-trade clause with his family in mind.  Now that he is a free agent, he may decide to spend time with his family instead of playing another season:

Last season while with the Phillies, Young took a personal leave over health concerns with his son.  Having already earned over $90 million during his baseball career, Young likely does not need the money.  Therefore, it's very reasonable that Young would want to spend time with his family.

If indeed Young has played his last game, he will retire with a batting average that is an even .300 and an impressive .787 career OPS.  Not too shabby.
