The Flyers entered the night with three first round picks, and that presented the possibility that there could be movement via trade. Sure enough, the Flyers made the move to get back into the top half of the first round.

The Flyers traded the 22nd and 31st overall picks to the Pittsburgh Penguins for the 12th overall pick, and used it to select center Jack Nesbitt.

Nesbitt is a 6’5″, 185-pound centerman who had 25 goals and 39 assists for 64 points in 65 games with the Windsor Spitfires in the OHL. Nesbitt also scored two goals and had five points in the U-18 World Junior Championships.

The Flyers no longer have a pick in the remainder of the first round following the trade. They do have three second-round picks at 36th, 40th, and 48th overall to start Day 2 on Saturday.
