Flyers vs. Sharks Preview: Ringing in the New Year
The Flyers have one more game remaining in 2024, and it will take place just hours before 2025 arrives on the East coast.
The Orange and Black close out the California portion of their road trip, facing off against the San Jose Sharks.

Matvei Michkov snapped a seven-game pointless streak with a goal and an assist in Sunday’s loss to the Kings. Earlier this season, after being a healthy scratch for two games, Michkov had a goal and an assist against the Sharks on Nov. 11.
Macklin Celebrini has been red hot since returning from injury. Celebrini was briefly tied with Michkov among rookies in points this season and is currently on a point-per-game pace. He has a four-game points streak entering Tuesday’s game.
Sam Ersson is expected to start for the Flyers. Ersson picked up the win in Anaheim on Saturday, making 32 saves on 33 shots. Ersson got a win against the Sharks on Nov. 11, making 28 saves on 31 shots.
Alexandar Georgiev is expected to start for the Sharks. Georgiev is making just his fifth start since being traded to San Jose. He has lost three straight starts, allowing four goals or more in each.
